IT leaders send a clear message – save money.

PRLog (Press Release) – Jun 30, 2009 – In a recent online pole of IT leaders responsible for all aspects of their corporate IT infrastructure the results were clear.  The majority – 69% felt that their budgets would either remain the same or would decrease in 2009.  Those that responded that their budget would take a hit responded, on average, that they expect to see a reduction of 16%.  These figures represent mid-market (1000-5000 employees) organizations in the US.  (http://www.pddnet.com/news-ap-second-annual-survey-of-it ... )“In any economy we provide the best value in IT hardware solutions.  These survey figures are not surprising to us.  For some time now we have been listening to our clients say exactly what this study confirms:  Give us value and ensure our security” says Mike Pekar of ICT Company in Malden, MA.
ICT has always been in a position to bring value added resources to an organization that wants to utilize their resources wisely.  For the past 16 years, the company has been successful in helping companies maximize their IT infrastructure – even after the physical equipment is no longer in use.  In a sense, what the company does is return value to the IT equation.  “It’s not just replacing and spending anymore.  Our process and structure can be layered into an IT infrastructure build out or decommissioning and achieve the desired result in a more cost efficient way” Pekar continued.
So how do they do it?  One case study shows that ICT came to the table for a global IT manufacturer (OEM) who wanted to achieve two goals:  the physical destruction of the hard drives and to realize a return on any equipment that had unrealized market value.  Their current situation was not showing a return for the remaining value of the assets – and was actually costing them bottom line revenue.  ICT customized their process to match the need of the client and applied it to over 38 tons of equipment.  What ICT did was evaluate and execute a process that first ensured the data was secure, and then it was completely destroyed.  Utilizing the strategic partnerships that ICT owns, it allowed the client to realize the remaining value of their previously valueless assets.
ICT delivered a detailed asset recovery report that showed the data was securely destroyed, accounted for all remaining assets and provided a strategic plan that was cost effective and well managed.  The plan included an environmentally responsible process ensuring that the client and ICT were in compliance with all regulations.  This plan was executed with a global reach, which means there were regulations from several countries that applied.  Because European waste regulations are very specific and fines can be punitive, this is a primary concern for ICT clients.
Additionally, on June 23, 2009 a story broke about how sensitive government information was bought in Africa by journalism students doing a documentary on e-waste (http://www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2009/06/23/tech-e-was ...).  “It cost them $40 dollars to buy a hard drive and according to the story it didn’t take any special software for the students to open the files.  That’s the kind of situation that our clients are not interested in dealing with.  It’s what we successfully manage for them” said Alex Styller, President of ICT Company.
